NASS leadership launches eight buses for workers

In order to facilitate the transportation of parliamentary personnel, the National Assembly introduced eight new coaster buses in Abuja on Monday. The buses were donated by the Clerk, Magaji Tambawal.

The buses are a part of interim steps to lessen the impact on employees of the termination of fuel subsidies.

In an effort to lessen the effects of the elimination of gasoline subsidies, the Clerk has also started implementing a new N35,000 wage award for National Assembly employees.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, spoke during the launch and vehicle transfer to the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN). He described the action as an indication of the 10th National Assembly’s commitment to staff welfare, which is being led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

He claimed that because he was dedicated to the wellbeing of his personnel, he did not hesitate to approve the Senate President’s request for the buses to be provided.
