Zack Leffler Car Accident: A horrific watercraft accident that happened during Memorial Day weekend in Georgia took place in the Wilmington River and claimed the lives of five people. A man has been placed under arrest in relation to the event. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, which verified this information to WTOC, stated that Mark Christopher Stegall, 45, of Savannah, Georgia, was arrested and charged with driving a boat while intoxicated.
About 10:30 on Saturday morning, Chatham Emergency Services reports that a call for help was placed in reference to an accident involving two boats traveling in opposing directions on the Wilmington River. One of the boats involved capsized in the water. The bodies of three men who had gone missing since the event were found were found on Sunday morning. Game wardens found them arranged side by side in the same spot in fourteen-foot-deep water.
Due to their injuries, two further participants in the altercation died in the hospital. The people who have been identified as victims are Zachary James Leffler, 23, Nathan Leffler, 17, Lori Lynn Leffler, 50, Christopher David Leffler, 51, and Robert Steven Chauncey, 37. “Everyone was concerned about the people who were affected by this and the missing people.”
A DNR region supervisor named Captain Chris Hodge describes the situation as a truly horrific event that affects everyone, but especially the family that has lost four relatives. They also brought four more people to the hospital. Officials claim that the crash’s cause has not been made public. According to the authorities, crash reconstruction specialists will review the material to try and figure out what caused this incident and how it happened. They project that the procedure might take between six and eight weeks to finish.
