Jason Panek Death – On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, Jason Scott Panek, a 23-year-old native of Freehold, Maryland, unexpectedly collapsed at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Although Jason was born in Birmingham, Alabama, he spent his early years in Freehold, New Jersey. While attending Rutgers University full-time, he was a member of the TKE, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Alpha Eta Chapter. His major was history.

Spending time with his friends and fraternity brothers, as well as assisting others and making others laugh, were among Jason’s passions. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and camping among other outdoor pursuits. Prior to Jason’s birth, his maternal grandfather Carl Blatt and paternal grandmother Wanda Panek passed away. His parents, Brian and Cindy Panek of Freehold, New Jersey; his sister, Erin Panek, also of the same town; and his maternal grandmother, Rosalyn Blatt of Monroe, are the ones who can carry on his legacy.

On Sunday, June 7, 2015, there will be a reception at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township, from one to four o’clock in the afternoon. His funeral will thereafter take place at four o’clock in the afternoon. There will be no funeral in public. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Monmouth County Boy Scouts.
